Job Coach & Developer
Position Purpose: Develop employer contacts, create/explore new job avenues for clients, develop incoming job leads, develop and maintain liaisons with employers and their organizations, research career trends and employment opportunities regarding industry-specific areas, participate in job fairs and other employment related events.

Reports To: Senior Case Manager, Homeless Services

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and co-facilitate Job Clubs, including outreach, scheduling, organizing, ordering supplies, preparing printed handouts, and set-up; research career trends and employment opportunities, regarding industry-specific areas; file client information from each Job Club. Conduct training for Resumes & Master application.
- Perform some outreach to employers. Conduct Mock Interviews & Job readiness assessment & preparation
- Verify jobs for clients placed in jobs, track jobs and changes in retention phase of clients’ progress, assist in providing support and retention vouchers to clients placed. Prepare post-placement follow-up retention service plan for participants placed in employment, meet with case manager to establish follow-up/retention service plan for each participant placed in employment, and work with participant in developing an individual monthly budget, based upon the participant’s needs and income. Keep working Clients informed of trends, policies, & technology changes.
- Organize employment speaker’s bureau, coordinate job related Supervisory feedback. General Job Retention duties
- Assist Director in reporting employment statistics for APR & other monthly required reports
- Other duties as assigned by Director
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma / GED.
- At least one year experience working with diverse staff and a diverse client population. Personal experience with disability and/or homelessness preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to promote client empowerment, choice making, and independent living.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate program workshops.
- Experience coordinating peer group interactions.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
- Problem solving and conflict resolution ability.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to address people.
- Self-starter, ability to work independently and with teams.
- Experience with internal and external barriers that homeless people face.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle crises.
- Experience in documenting workshop services for Clients.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Tolerance of stressful situations and ability to work with a wide variety of people.
- Demonstrated ability to show a non-judgmental attitude in client services and to maintain client confidentiality.
- Some basic computer application knowledge is preferred.
- Some light lifting will be required.

Requires some travel within assigned service area.
